Time For Yet Another Gym Membership?

As another year draws to a close, and people have usually over-eaten massively over the festive period -it's that time of the year that gymnasiums love, and many depend on, the time when a large influx of new members turn up, sign up for a year, attend two or three times, and are never seen again.

Unfortunately, it's true, most gyms make most of their money from people who never attend for the vast majority of their membership period, if you have ever wondered why virtually all gyms now want you to sign a contract for a protracted membership time period, here is your answer.

The sad truth is that most gyms simply could not accomodate all the members they sign up if everybody wanted to actually turn up and train, but they know this will not happen, so they can oversell the area many times over and sell far more memberships than they have space or facilities for, and this is how they make the majority of their profits. Many of you will now be reading this thinking:

"Oh! that's me they're talking about.."

And yes it may well be, but you are far from alone.

A New Approach.. Personal Training?

If you recognise yourself in the scenario above then it's clear something failed in your previous fitness plans and a new approach is required, training with a Personal Trainer.

Many years ago a personal trainer was seen as an indulgent luxury, only for the rich or famous, actors or celebrities, however times have changed radically and with the advent of the financial crisis two things have happened that have brought personal training easily into the reach of the the average person these days, many more people entered the business after losing their previous jobs, and this caused average training costs to fall, meaning where once you possibly had to pay $75-$100 per session, now good qualified personal trainers will often do sessions for $25-$35, and at one session per week this is now in-line with many gym's membership costs, and much better value than a gym membership that you only use until mid-January but pay for the whole year.

The best thing about a personal trainer is the fact that unless you have a really good reason, you will be doing your booked exercise sessions, because unlike a gym where you have to motivate yourself to go and do it, every time, and after 2 or 3 sessions the motivation can fade away, eading to lapsing attendances and wasted gym fees, a booking with a personal trainer means they are going to turn up at your door and not take "No" for an answer!

The number one reason most people use trainers is to ensure that they actually do, what they are supposed to do, of course a trainer's exercise expertise can always help you, however the majority of people know what they need to do, all they need is the motivation to actually do it regularly..

You will not find motivation lacking in a good personal trainer, and you will find that you do your training sessions that you pay for, and that you do achieve your fitness and training goals, as opposed to becoming just another gyms "sucker money"

Often times you can find a personal trainer that will work with 2 at once and the hourly rate is split -that can be an affordable way to hire someone if money is tight! Good hub!
